Coorie Alba is a project aiming to solve a problem close to my heart, the depopulation of the highlands and islands of Scotland
The Highlands and Islands have a major depopulation issue, espesiallly with the younger generations.
of 16-29 year olds plan to leave within 5 years.

Young people want to stay in their Highland & Island communities; however, they find they
can't as homes are too expensive.
Coorie Alba is a trust that works with the older generations of the Highlands & Islands that are unsure of what to do with housing they either are looking to sell, without harming the community, or are leaving in their will with no-one to inherit.
It manages these homes and finds young people looking to start a life in the Highland and Islands and rents out these houses as affordably as possible, for long terms, giving them a foothold lives.
Too get people attention onto the trust we would have a series of guerrilla campaigns like our "have ewe been seeing blue" to bring people to our site.
We'll also have signs that represent the break down of the traditional house selling system that is ruining the H&I, while also paying homage to the house donator, encouraging more of the older generations to donate to keep their homeland alive
After talking to some residents and viewing some council meetings addressing this problem I came up with a housing trust, taking houses donated in wills by past generations and renting them affordably for the next, keeping homes in the hands of people and not B&B's
